Luxor: the one-day choice
Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and Luxor Temple in one guided day: Hurghada to Luxor with Valley of the Kings, Karnak and Tut's tomb. Very early start, late return; bring water, a hat and closed shoes. See Luxor from Hurghada and Luxor or Cairo.
Aswan: better with a night
Philae, the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk make a half day on site: private tour of Aswan. The journey from Hurghada is by private car, or bus then train via Luxor (see Hurghada to Aswan). A felucca ride completes the visit well. For Abu Simbel: Abu Simbel from Hurghada.
Both together
The Luxor-Aswan train takes about 3 h 07; the 3-day cruise links the two with Edfu and Kom Ombo: Nile cruise.
