Abu Tig Marina: El Gouna's harbour, shops and restaurants

Updated on October 18, 2026

Abu Tig Marina is the yacht harbour of El Gouna and the liveliest part of town in the evening. Along the quays, moored yachts face terraces of restaurants, cafés and bars, shops and hotels: two four-star hotels and three small ones, according to descriptions of the area. The marina has a north basin and a south basin, receives the resort's yachts and excursion boats, and is home to the headquarters of Orascom Marine Management. It is the place to dine facing the boats, and also the departure point for many trips out to sea.

Highlights

The yacht quay

The yacht quay

The paved quay runs alongside the moored boats, under ochre façades and palm trees. People stroll here in the morning as well as at the end of the day, when the restaurants open.

The restaurant terraces

The restaurant terraces

Tables under parasols line up between palm trees, in front of ochre façades. The restaurants serve local and international food; check the prices on the menu before sitting down.

The marina square

The marina square

An open pedestrian square lined with terraces and shops, rather like a seaside village. It is busier in the evening.

Tips

  • The Moods restaurant and beach club is at the end of the marina, and the Mediterranean restaurant Yamas a few minutes' walk away. The marina also has a gym, LA7. Restaurant listings change from one season to the next: go by what you see on the spot rather than an old list. For boat trips from El Gouna, compare operators and insist on an all-inclusive price. For the same atmosphere in Hurghada, see the Hurghada marina.

How to get there

Abu Tig Marina is in El Gouna, about 20 km north of Hurghada (see the page on El Gouna). From Hurghada take a round-trip taxi and agree the price before getting in; on the spot, taxi or bike.

Opening hours

Best: In the evening
Quays freely accessible; opening hours vary by restaurant and shop
