Orange Bay is a developed white-sand beach on Giftun Island, facing very clear turquoise water. It is one of the most requested escapes from Hurghada: a wooden pier, beach huts, lunch on site and optional water sports. You go on a day excursion, by shared boat or speedboat. The prices quoted are ranges found with tour operators in October 2026; there is no single official price list.
Highlights

The pier and the beach
A long wooden pier reaches out into clear water, with beach huts on the sand. It is where the boats arrive and the best spot for a photo of the bay.

White sand and swimming
The seabed slopes gently and the water is calm, which suits children and less confident swimmers. Excursions usually leave about two hours on the beach before lunch.

Snorkelling around Giftun
After lunch, many boats make two more snorkelling stops on nearby reefs. Motorised activities and towed tubes are paid extras on the spot.

Tips
- Group offers found in October 2026 range from about 25 to 30 USD per adult for a day of around 7 hours with lunch and drinks; a private speedboat tour costs much more. One operator also charges about 5 euros per person as an access fee for Orange Bay, on top of the national park and coast guard fees: ask for the final price before booking. Activities (towed tube, parasailing, jet ski) are paid and their prices vary; compare before accepting on the beach. Bring cash, a hat, reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes. The place is busy around midday: arrive early to get a spot on the beach.
How to get there
By boat only, from the Hurghada marina or another harbour in the city; the crossing takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Excursions usually include the hotel transfer within the Hurghada area; from Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh, Soma Bay, El Gouna or Safaga, a transfer supplement is common.
