Sunset cruise: the detail
The programme described: hotel pickup, sailing, a snorkel stop, a sunset photo stop (sometimes with dolphins, not guaranteed), then dinner on board. Reviews praise the meal and the sunset. Departures are from the Hurghada marina. Adults only: this is not a family outing. For evening snorkeling, the water is cooler in winter; bring something warm.
Bedouin dinner: the detail
The BADU camp is described in Makadi Bay, about 30 minutes from Hurghada: a camel ride at sunset, bread baked on site, roasted coffee, a multi-course dinner, music and dance, then stargazing. Alcohol and outside food are not allowed. Winter evenings are cold in the desert: jacket, trousers, closed shoes. The camel remains a tourist attraction; if animal welfare concerns you, prefer plans without a ride, with dinner and stars only.
Quad or parasailing as a bonus
A sunset quad is combined with a Bedouin dinner in several plans; compare price and duration. Parasailing over the Red Sea is also sold: reviews often complain of a flight much shorter than advertised (a few minutes) and a hard transfer between boats in heavy swell; ask the real time in the air and do not book it in strong wind.
Choosing in four questions
- With children? Bedouin dinner; the cruise is adults only.
- Seasick? Bedouin dinner or quad.
- Need calm? Cruise; the desert means music and crowds.
- Short on time? Sunset quad, or an evening at a marina restaurant.
Traps to avoid
- Marina touts: book through the hotel or a platform with reviews; see scams and safety.
- Return time: ask the real return time to the hotel, especially if you fly the next day.
- Clothing: in winter, the temperature drops after sunset; see Hurghada in winter.
- Transfer from the south: a supplement is possible from Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh or Soma Bay.
FAQ

Is the cruise suitable for families? No, it is adults only.
Do you really see dolphins? Not guaranteed; it depends on the sea and the day.
Is the Bedouin dinner suitable for vegetarians? Menus are mostly grilled meat, rice and salads; ask for an option when booking.
