Where to stay in July
Choose a hotel with checked air conditioning, a beach or shaded pool and, if possible, a nearby reef. Rates drop in summer: see all-inclusive, which area and weather by month.
With children
Short outings, hat, sunglasses, factor 50 cream and water all the time. Avoid midday walks; see Hurghada with family and what to do when it rains or is too hot.
Luxor and Cairo in summer
The temples of Luxor often exceed 40 °C: prefer an excursion leaving very early, or skip it; see Luxor from Hurghada.
