Friday prayer
Around noon the congregational prayer causes a pause near mosques: worshippers may spread mats on the pavement. Avoid crossing those areas at that time and do not photograph worshippers.
Where to shop
For fixed prices and air conditioning the mall stays open every day; for the old souk, prefer late afternoon. Details in our page shopping in Hurghada.
Sunday for errands
If you need a bank or currency exchange, do it on Sunday morning rather than Friday. For public holidays see holidays in Egypt.
